Chimamanda Ngozi is an award winning author whose novels have catapulted her to international fame. Her third book, The Thing Around Your Neck (2009), is a collection of short stories. I started reading Adichie's Purple Hibiscus a couple of years back, but given my mental state then, I couldn't stand the distressing nature of the story and abandoned it half-way. In 2010 she was listed among the authors of The New Yorkers “20 Under 40” Fiction Issue. A delightful collection of twelve short stories, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's The Thing Around Your Neck was a sweet treat for my burnt out on reading self.
